On Saturday 19th March it is the opening day of our show of works on paper by Denise Hoyle. Denise will be with us for much of the day and we hope you can join us.
For those of you who cannot make it to the gallery the work will also be on the website on our exhibitions pages.
Denise Hoyle has had no formal art training but has always used her natural artistc talents to make collages, ceramics, prints and paintings. She moved from France to Engand as a young woman to marry printmaker Walter Hoyle (1922-2000). They lived for many years in Great Bardfield with other artists at that time; Edward Bawden, Bernard Cheese, Michael Rothenstein. We will be having an exhibition of Walter Hoyle's prints in the Autumn.
From Saturday 19th March - Saturday 19th April we will be showing Denises' delicate watercolours of flowers, ceramics, feathers and shells. Denise loves to paint and rarely shows her work so we are delighted to be exhibiting it. It is a temorary departure for us from printmaking and very much because Denise makes beautiful work which is lovely to see and also she is the widow of Walter Holye whose prints we show so we have become good friends with Denise over the last few years.
Work will be for sale, both framed and unframed.
