Beautiful new prints just arrived from Flora McLachlan

14th February 2011

Printmaker Flora McLachlan makes beautiful etchings and she has just sent us a selection of new prints which we have now put out in the gallery and added to our website.

Talking about her work Flora says;
"My pictures are records of things seen and imagined by twilight or moonglow. Flowers gleam in dark woods or misty meadows and moths are drawn to them; clouds cross the sky and a fox hurries over a hill. I try to express a sense of the enchantment I feel in a landscape, a sense of its secret face when the light fades and the creatures come out to roam…I am inspired by poetry and the powerful and strange images found in fairy tales and myths".

We will soon have some of her colour etchings too (Flora is working on them over the next few weeks). We will add them to our website when they arrive.
