Biography
James Cressar Tarr was born in the Mumbles, Swansea, Wales and studied at the Royal College of Art (1925-29). During the 1930s he lived in High Wickham and made many paintings at this time, mainly landscapes and some figure studies. In 1946 he returned to live in Wales and taught at Cardiff School of Art. (1947-1970) He later became principal at the college. He died in Cardiff in 1996. |
